Team Members
Mark is a fourth year PhD student in the field of computer architecture and a long interest in aeroplanes and aerospace.
He will be the team leader for the PR3 team. He also has several years of FPGA experience and will help the team out where needed.
Louis is a second year master Electrical Engineering student that will perform his thesis on the radio interferometry experiment. He gained experience with interferometry when carrying out an internship at the Radboud Radio Lab
He will also work on development of the electronics and algorithms.
Jeroen is a second year master student in the electronic systems group in Eindhoven. He will perform his master thesis within the PR3 team.
He will focus on the electronics and algorithm design. Additionally he will be cooperating with Kristiaan on an FPGA implementation.
Joris is a third year bachelor student at the Antenna Design group in Eindhoven. He is working full-time on the PR3 project for his bachelor end project.\\
He is responsible, together with Ronis, for the design of the ground antennas.
Tim is a second year master student at the faculty of mechanical engineering in Eindhoven. He will be involved part-time in the PR3 project.
He will be responsible for the design of the mechanical fixtures and casings needed to mount our experiment inside the REXUS fuselage. He will perform structural and thermal analysis on these designs.
Ronis is a third year PhD students in the electromagnetics group of the Eindhoven University of Technology. His work is on design of radiating structures. He will be involved part-time with PR3.
He will be in charge of the antenna design for the transmitters and ground stations for the radio-interferometry experiment of PR3. It is possible that Ronis will attract extra students to perform these designs.
Marcela is a second year PDEng (post-master) student at Eindhoven University of technology in the signal processing group. She will be involved part-time in PR3. She has experience in mechatronics, and managing of multidisciplinary student teams.
She will be sub-team leader of the outreach program and will develop the website as well as manage social media accounts and sponsoring.
Daan is a first year bachelor student at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, and studies astrophysics. He will work part-time on the PR3 project.
He will work within the radiation measurement experiment on modeling/researching particle interaction with various materials. He will do so together with Floris.
Wouter is a first year bachelor student at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, and studies physics and astronomy. He will work part-time on the PR3 project.
He will work within the radio-interferometry experiment on implementing a real-time tracking interface. He will do so together with Simon and Kailan.
Simon is a first year bachelor student at the Radboud University in Nijmegen, and studies physics and astronomy. He will work part-time on the PR3 project.

Jochem is a second year bachelor student at the Radboud University in Nijmegen in physics and a first year bachelor student at mathematics. He will work part-time on the PR3 project.
He will work within the radiation measurement experiment on modeling/researching radiation in the upper atmosphere. He will do so together with Arthur.
Martijn will help with the production of mechanical parts of the module, which involves several difficult manufacturing steps.
Frederik is a master student of the electronic systems group and will work for PR³ as an internship and is planning to graduate this year.
He will help with the implementation of the FPGA algorithm on the ground stations.
Daniel works at Radboud University at the department of Theoretical High Energy Physics.
He will work on the reference sensor experiment.
Staff
Roel Jordans Between September 2010 and December 2014 Roel was involved in the ASAM project as a PhD student under the supervision of prof.dr. H. Corporaal and dr.ir. L. Jozwiak. In this project he worked on automatic VLIW data-path synthesis for ASIPs. As part of this research, he tries to find the optimal issue-width and instruction-set of a VLIW processor based on the target application. Heino Falcke Over the last couple of years, Heino has become engaged in the exploration of space, motivated by the possibility to put a LOFAR-like radiotelescope on the moon (see also ESA Space Exploration, ESA Exploration conference, Berlin) and worked as consultant to ESA and EADS. He is a member of the Definition Team of ESA's first Moon Lander study (phase B1). |
